Dag Liempde!

Daarmee komt een eind aan ons avontuur in het vertrouwde Liempde. Een keuze die het nodige overleg met zich mee bracht. Want Liempde. This is where it started. Van de zolderkamer thuis naar onze huiskamer op Raadhuisplein 2a. Zo’n move deden we zelfs twee keer.

Er zijn dan ook redenen te over om 11 jaar lang voor Liempde te kiezen. Al was het maar die verantwoorde dagelijkse boodschappenloop richting de Coop. Het waarom van de locatie leverde ons door de jaren heen mooie gesprekken op. Liempde dus. Wij zijn fan.

Met de groei van Team Factor begon het eens zo ruime kantoor echter steeds wat krapper te worden. Extra werkplekken werden bijgeschoven, de lunchtafel werd alsmaar langer en er moesten al snel afspraken gemaakt worden om onze #bouw en #denk ruimtes te gebruiken. Wait, what? Zelfs de racebaan werd opgeborgen om ruimte te winnen! Redenen te over om onze streep op de horizon eens over de dorpsgrens te leggen. #houdoe

Hallo Eindhoven!

Had het verlaten van Liempde nog overleg nodig, de nieuwe locatie had dat niet. Want Eindhoven. Hier haalt Team Factor al jaren zijn inspiratie op het gebied van design, innovatie en (high)tech.

Eindhoven. De stad van de niet te missen Dutch Design Week (#fomo gegarandeerd). Het lichtfestival Glow. De Maker Fair. De Dutch Technology Week. Broedkamer voor nieuw talent. De booming maakindustrie. Internationale allure. Muziek. Fijne horeca. Dat en meer. Eindhoven dus. En vanaf september zitten we daar iedere dag middenin. Hadden wij al door laten schemeren dat we fan zijn?

Hallo Plan B!

Onze zoektocht naar dé juiste plek voor Factor Headquarter leidde ons naar een gebied met een rauw randje, de Hurk. Om precies te zijn naar een voormalig Philips lab, omgedoopt tot ‘Plan-B’. Een inspirerende, groeiende hub met eveneens een rauw randje en voorzien van een bonte verzameling creatieve buren. Wij mogen ons verschansen op de 3e verdieping aan de oostkant. Met uitzicht op een groot deel van Eindhoven. Van de schoorstenen op Strijp-T tot de waterbollen bij het Tongelreep zwembad. Op een twee keer zo groot speelveld hebben we daar de ruimte om te groeien én te spelen. Hallo racebaan!

De omgeving verkennen

En zo mogen wij ons vanaf september met een big smile verder verdiepen in onze nieuwe omgeving. Want, heel praktisch, wat is de meest gerichte aanrijroute? Hoe werkt het OV? Wie zijn nu écht onze buren, binnen en buiten Plan-B? Welk raam heeft het mooiste uitzicht? Hoe vaak zullen wij voor een schroefje binnen stappen bij ‘onze’ Praxis? Gaan de Hanos en de Sligro om de hoek een volwaardige vervanging zijn voor onze vertrouwde Coop? Fietsen we in 6 minuten door naar de AH XL? Of laten we PicNic voortaan onze boodschappen aan de deur bezorgen? #tipszijnwelkom

Kortom, Factor Tachtig wordt logistiek gereset. Jouw merk blijft daarbij als vanouds in het middelpunt van onze belangstelling staan. Hetzelfde team, meer ruimte. Kom je snel eens kijken?

Breaking news: the brand makers of Factor Tachtig are trading in rural Liempde for design city Eindhoven. From the quiet countryside to a view of ‘big city lights’. Hello Eindhoven, thank you Liempde!

Good bye Liempde!

And so ends our adventure in good old Liempde. It was a choice that required a bit of convincing. Because Liempde. This is where it all started. From the attic at home, then to our living room at Raadhuisplein 2a. We’ve managed to make a shift of this kind, twice.

We had every reason to be based in Liempde for more than 11 years. Even if it was just for the regular daily trip to the shops towards the Coop. Over the years, the ‘why’ of our location was the source of many an interesting conversation. Liempde it was. Let’s just say we’re fans.

With the growth of Team Factor, what once seemed to be such a spacious office started to get a little snug. Extra workspaces were slotted in, the lunch table got longer and longer and people had to get in early to book the use of our #bouw (#build) and #denk (#think) spaces. Wait, what? Even the race track had been put into storage to make more room! Reasons enough to pull up stakes and move beyond village borders. #houdoe (#seeya)

Hello Eindhoven!

While there might have been a bit of umm-ing and aah-ing about leaving Liempde, there was no question about the new location. Because Eindhoven. This is the place where Team Factor had been getting inspiration for years, in terms of design, innovation and (high)tech.

Eindhoven. The city of the unmissable Dutch Design Week (#fomo guaranteed). Glow, the light festival. The Maker Fair. The Dutch Technology Week. Hotbed for new talent. The booming manufacturing industry. International allure. Music. Great food and hospitality. All this, and more. Eindhoven it would be. And from September we’ll be right in the thick of it, every day. Did we happen to mention that we’re fans?

Hello Plan B!

Our search for the right spot for Factor Headquarters led us to an area with a few raw edges, the Hurk. To be precise, to a former Philips lab, christened ‘Plan-B’. An inspiring, growing hub whose raw edges come with a colorful collection of creative neighbours. We’ll be getting ourselves settled into our space on the 3rd floor on the east side – with a view of a large part of Eindhoven, starting at the chimneys on Strijp-T all the way over to the great balloon water tanks near the Tongelreep swimming pool – in a twice-as-large playing field where we have the room to grow, and to play. Hello race track!

Getting to know the area

And so, we’re going to thoroughly enjoy getting better acquainted with our new surroundings. Because, practically speaking, what is the most direct route to work by car? How does the OV chip card system work? Who are our neighbors really, both at Plan-B and beyond? How often will we pop over to ‘our’ Praxis for nails or screws? Will Hanos and the Sligro on the corner be worthy substitutes for our beloved Coop? Can we cycle in under 6 minutes to the AH XL? Or will we get PicNic to deliver to our front door? #tipszijnwelkom (#tipsarewelcome)

To cut a long story short, Factor Tachtig is being reset, logistically. Your brand will continue to be at the heart of all our efforts and concerns, just like it’s always been. Same team, more space. Won’t you come visit us soon?
